Greeting from Senior Managing Director

As we approach our 50th anniversary, we now looking back at the many setbacks and hardships shared by our valued customers and our fellow employees. Despite such hardships, Key-Tec has managed to achieve stable growth by turning crisis into opportunity. We are now preparing to take our first step into our next half-century.


Key-Tec has manufactured plywood since 1958, and began the production of LVL in 1991. Key-Lam is the first LVL to be approved by JAS (Japan Agriculture Standard) in Japan. Over the past fifty years, the quality and quantity of Japanese Housing was grown greatly, but there are still many demands in improving the quality of homes.


Key-Tec is committed to providing some of the best services available to satisfy needs of customers, and to deliver top –class building material for safe and reliable homes. The Key-Tec plant is located in Kisarazu Chiba, near Tokyo metropolitan district; the biggest market in Japan. The production of LVL and the Key-Lam Joist, from the rotary lathe to the hot press, is done in-house; thus allowing us to insure only the highest quality product leaves our factory.

Our ambition to make the future a brighter place allows us to take on any challenges thrown in our path. We are now striving to bring greater innovations and changes to the marketplace for our own growth; through such growth, the capability to bring greater services to our customers.
 To this end, we will expand and improve upon core competencies to build an enterprise with strong global competitiveness. At Key-Tec, we are preparing for a new half-century of growth generated by greater change and innovation. We are constantly committed to providing you with the services and products to help you shape the future that you long for.

April 1958 After took over Ueno Industrial Co., Ltd., Harumi Plywood Co., Ltd was founded in Ariake, Koutou city, Tokyo, Japan.
April 1963 Yashio Plywood Co., Ltd. was founded in Ousone, Yashio City, Saitama, Japan
March 1981 Plywood Plant was founded in Lumber Port Kisarazu, Chiba, Japan
October 1985 Harumi Plywood Co., Ltd. and Yashio Plywood Co., Ltd. had merged and operating as Keyo Co., Ltd.
